HOPE's Participants
HOPE's participants are special people who
face special challenges. Activities utilizing horses may benefit
people of most any age or disability. This includes Cerebral Palsy,
Multiple Sclerosis, visual or hearing impairments, spina bifida,
emotional or learning disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injury
and paraplegia.
HOPE's lessons are developed for the safety,
comfort and individual needs of each participant. Special games
and exercises make the lessons fun for all involved.
Learning horsemanship stimulates physical,
mental and emotional growth. It develops trust, communication, self-discipline,
concentration and awareness of body in space. The abilities developed
while participating in equine activities are carried over into other
aspects of the participant's life.
